Athlete Spotlight: The Dynamic Duo

This week we get to meet two of our members - Katie and Zoe. These two always workout together and it doesn't matter how much weight is on the bar, they focus on technique first and pushing each other to the best of their abilities. And afterwards they don't mind going out for dinner or a drink to celebrate! Together of course.

How long have you been at Instinct Fitness: On and off 2 years I think
What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit: Indoor/outdoor rock climbing, yoga, tramping, art, live music, drinking cocktails, dating  🙂
What is your favourite and least favourite movement in CrossFit? Favourite – Box jumps/ push ups.  Least – Over head squat
What is your biggest achievement so far? 6 kipping pull ups in a row, dead lifting my bodyweight, not quitting!
What are your future goals? Climb the highest peak in NZ, complete another pilgrimage. Lift heavier and get stronger.
Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Learn good technique and keep coming back as it gets easier. Stretch after class. Talk to people and make friends.
Tell us something we don't know about you: I speak 3 languages and I’m currently learning my 4th, Te Reo Maori.

What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit: Travelling, tramping, photography, cooking
What is your favourite and least favourite movement in CrossFit? Favourite – Sit ups  Least – Pull ups
What is your biggest achievement so far? I’m finally starting to see results with a mixture Instinct Fitness workouts and learning more about what foods I should eat when, inspired by the lean in 15 book, and of course…less alcohol
What are your future goals? Keep exercising and eating well!
Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? It’s not as intimidating as it looks
